Frank J. Geideman, 75, of 521 South Third Street, retired New York Central Railroad locomotive engineer, died at 10:35 a.m., Thursday in Pawating Hospital where he had been admitted several hours previous. He had been in poor health for some time.
Mr. Geideman, a life member of the Niles Elks Lodge and a member of the Railroad Pioneer Association, was born Aug. 22, 1882, in Niles and had lived his entire lifetime in this community. He was retired from the railroad in 1946. His wife, Martha, preceded him in death in 1942.
Surviving are three sons, Russell, Fred and John Geideman, all of Niles; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Meyer, also of Niles; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. John Keller, of Niles, and three brothers, Henry, Rudolph and George Geideman, all of Niles.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday in the Pifer Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Meussling, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ [Evangelical and Reformed], officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home
