MRS. NORA ECKLER, 71, DIES TODAY

A cerebral hemorrhage resulted in death at 7:30 a.m. today to Mrs. Nora Eckler, 71, of 1004 Birch street, in a hospital in Allegan. She had been in poor health for several months, but seriously ill only four days.

Mrs. Eckler had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Bernice Chestine, Allegan, for the past five weeks.

Born in Keeler, Mich. July 27, 1873 Mrs. Eckler came to Niles from South Bend 30 years ago. Her first husband, Frank Curtis, died in 1936. In 1938 she was married to Charles Eckler who preceded her in death Dec. 21, 1943.

Survivors are a son, Fred Curtis, Niles; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Edinger and Mrs. Harold Makepeace, Niles; Mrs. Ora Coleman, Buchanan, and Mrs. Chestine, and 23 grandchildren.

ECKLER RITES

Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Eckler, 71, of 1004 Birch street, who died Wednesday morning in Allegan, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Rutherford funeral home, followed by burial in Silverbrook cemetery. The Rev. O.H. Gerstenkorn, pastor of the Baptist church, will officiate.

ECKLER RITES

Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Eckler, 71, of 1004 Birch street, will be conducted by the Rev. O.H. Gerstenkorn Saturday at 2:30 pm. in the Rutherford funeral home, followed by burial in Silverbrook cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Emory Hayden, Earl Clark, Frank Bowles, Bert Youse, Elsa Rockwell and Louis Owens.

Note: Curtis is former married name not maiden name; per death record maiden name is Rider
