JOHN CANDLISH FERGUSON IS TAKEN BY DEATH
John Candlish Ferguson, well known and highly respected resident of the community, died this morning at his home, 509 South Fourth street.
While Mr. Ferguson's death was not unexpected, yet is comes with a . . [illegible]. . an unusually large and appreciative number of those people who valued his acquaintance and friendship most highly.
Mr. Ferguson was born near Montreal, Canada, September 2, 1846. He was graduated from the McGill Medical college and established a practice near Quebec. The later years of his life, however, had been lived near and in Niles. Mr. Ferguson's marriage to Alice H. Corell took place March 6, 1896, at the beautiful old Corell homestead.
The funeral services will be conducted at the late residence, Monday at 3 p.m. Interment will be made at Silver Brook cemetery.
