NILES--Morrison Glenn Mell, 66, 1636 Hickory St., died at 7 p.m. Thursday at Pawating Hospital shortly after he was admitted.
Born Sept. 14, 1907 in South Bend, he was a tool and die maker retired in 1972 from the Kawneer Co., after 32 years of service. He lived most of his lifetime in Niles.
On Sept. 1, 1934 in St. Clair, Mich., he marred the former Minnie V. Varnum, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jack of Niles and Richard of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Alfred and Raymond, both of Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. R.J. (Cleo) Beckwith of Niles and Mrs. Paul (Nelladean) Warner of Rockford, Mich. and four grandchildren.
Mr. Mell was a member of St. Joseph Valley Masonic Lodge, Niles Commandery and St. Joseph Valley Royal Arch Masons.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Pifer Chapel of the Swem-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald E. Gordon of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Masonic rites will be conducted by the St. Joseph Valley Lodge,. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
