WM BURT FOUND DEAD IN YARD

Body Discovered by Nephew at 1302 N. Fifth Street

 

William Burt, 68, was found dead Sunday morning in the yard at the home of his nephew, Charles Burt, 1302 North Fifth Street. The family retired about 10 o'clock, Saturday night and on Sunday morning about 6:30 o'clock, members of the household found him sitting on a bench in the yard, dead.

Coroner Hardy Langston was notified but he decided that an inquest was not necessary. The deceased had been in ill health for some time, and was known to have suffered with heart disease.

The body was removed to the Troost and Augustine undertaking rooms and the funeral services will be held there tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will take place in Silver Brook cemetery.

The deceased was born in Essex County, N.J. on June 11, 1867. He was brought to Niles by his parents, Martin and Mary Burt when he was about two years old and had had since resided here. For 14 years, he had resided with his nephew, Charles Burt. He followed the occupation of a painter. He is survived by two brothers, Ed Burt, of Omaha, Neb., and Aleck, of Illinois, and by nieces and nephews as follows: Martin Burt, California; Charles, Niles; Mrs. Roy Scott and Mrs. Neola Martin, South Bend; Mrs. Viola Hessen and Mrs. Edna Colburn, Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Myrtle Clark, Denver, Colo.

FUNERAL TODAY


Funeral services for William Burt were conducted this afternoon at the Troost and Augustine undertaking rooms, with Rev. H.T. Scherer officiating.  Burial took place n Silver Brook cemetery.
