Wounds Are Fatal to Pfc. Donald Blank
Pfc. Donald Blank, 23, Niles infantryman, died Feb. 10 of wounds suffered in action in Germany, according to word received from the War Department Thursday. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Blank, live at 1219 North Eleventh street.
In a telegram received Monday, Pfc. Blank had been declared wounded in Germany on Feb. 2. Word was received by his wife, Marjorie, who lives in South Bend.
Inducted into the Army two years ago this month, Pfc. Blank had been overseas since October.
He was graduated from Niles high school in 1941, and was employed as a brakeman by the New York Central railway prior to induction.
