Funeral services for Kathryn Augusta Krause, 93, 5355 Long Lake Road, Berrien Springs, are Saturday at 10 a.m., at Saint John's United Church of Christ, Niles, by the Rev. Al Bastin of Saint John's United Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

Mrs. Krause died Wednesday, at 9:50 a.m. at her home, following an extended illness.

She was born July 14, 1904, in Niles, and was a lifetime area resident.

On Dec. 31, 1933, in South Bend, Ind., she married Charles Martin Krause, who preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1966.

Mrs. Krause worked for the railroad ten years before marrying her husband. After her marriage, she operated the family farm with her husband until his death in 1966, and then with her family until 1980.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, and was a member of its Women's Fellowship.  Mrs. Krause was also a member of Fernwood, Berrien County Farm Bureau, and Berrien General Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include two nephews, Mason Shouder of Cheboygan, and David Shouder of Lake Geneva, Wis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Shouder who died Aug. 10, 1979.

Friends may call Friday from 2 until 6 p.m. at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
