NILES--Ralph Cross, 76, of 1982 Baldwin Dr., died at 8:30 p.m Saturday in Pawating Hospital after an illness of six months.
A retired employe of Niles Steel Tank Co., Mr. Cross was born Dec. 31, 1893, in Detroit, and had lived here since 1926, coming from Grand Rapids. On May 5, 1920, in Allegan, Mich., he married the former Viola V. Goodrich, who survives. He was a World War I Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 26 and the Four Flags Barracks, Veteran's of World War I.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Esel York and Mrs. Edwin Sayer, both of Niles; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Halbritter Funeral Home, with Sheldon M. Hart of the Jehovah's Witnesses Church officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
