Carl F. Carpenter
August 22, 1886-Sept. 26, 1968
EDWARDSBURG – Mr. Carl F. Carpenter, 82 of route Six, Brush road, died at 11 a.m. Monday in the South Bend Osteopathic Hospital where he had been a patient for one week.
Mr. Carpenter was born August 22, 1886, in Edwardsburg and had spent most of his life here. He retired from Penn-Central Railroad in 1952.
He is survived by his widow, Effie L. Carpenter; five sons, Bion A., Clarence F. Carl E., Donald E. and Raymond B, all of Niles; three daughters, Mrs. John Wucker of Cadillac, Arietta Carpenter of Niles and Mrs. Ruth Reeves of Connors, Ark; a sister, Mrs. Louise Strunk of Niles; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Pifer Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Pletcher of Coulters Chapel, officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
