Maxine (Schau) Creevy, of 212 Karen Drive, Galien, Mich., died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2005, in Vineyard's Adult Family Care, Galien, of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 5, 1917 in Niles, Mich., to the late L. D. and Cora (Wilson) Cheney. In July 1936 in Niles, Mich., she married Charles Schau who preceded her in death on February 1962. On Sept. 1963 in Buchanan, Mich., she married Harry A. Creevy who preceded her in death on July 1989. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Cheney and Lyle Cheney; and two sisters, Edna Hartline and Eva Adkins; and two grandchildren, Beth (Schau) McGowan and Trisha McGuigan.

She was a lifetime area resident, a member of St. Peters Evangelical Church, Galien and a member of the Rebecca Lodge and Moose Lodge. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Allen (Pam) Schau of Lombard, Ill., Chris (Jane) Schau of Galien, and Bob (Peggie) Schau of Buchanan; three daughters, Charlene (Gary) Mullins of Galien, Doris (Robert) Hutchison of Niles, and Linda McGuigan of Stevensville, Mich.; a brother, Burton (Wilma) Cheney of Niles; a stepbrother, David Cheney of South Bend; a sister, Wanda Thompson of Matthews, Ind.; a sister-in-law and best friend, Leila Creevy of Galien; two sisters-in-law, Lila Brown of Buchanan and Betty Alford of Niles; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday Oct. 3, in Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, with Pastor Robert Hamilton of St. Peters Evangelical Church officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2 in Hoven Funeral home, Buchanan.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. Peters Evangelical Church or to Hospice at Home of Stevensville.
