BERRIEN SPRINGS--L.D. Cheney, 84, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Unity Hospital in Buchanan after an illness of two weeks.

The owner of Dad and Lad's used furniture business in Berrien Springs, he was born June 22, 1890, in Hamilton, Mich. and lived in Berrien Springs most of his lifetime.

On March 19, 1911, in Decatur he married the former Cora Wilson, She died May 2, 1945.

Surviving are four sons, Lyle of Knox, Ind., Leonard and Burton of Niles and Julius of Mishawaka; four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Maxine) Crevey of Buchanan, Mrs. Alva (Edna) Hartline of Marcellus, Mrs. J.R. (Eva June) Adkins of Niles and Mrs. Lawrence (Wanda) Thompson of Matthews, Ind.; 45 grandchildren, 83 greatgrandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 :30 p.m. Friday at the Pifer Chapel of the Swem-Smith Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Ralph Pletcher, Pastor of Coulter's Chapel Church of God, officiating.

Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
