William L. Megaughey

NILES--William L. Megaughey, 78, of 1602 Sycamore St., died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday at Berrien General Hospital, Berrien Center, after an extended illness.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Lewistown, Pa., Elks Lodge, and was an Army veteran, having served in World War I. Mr. Megaughey was an employe of the American Viscose Corp. for 22 years and was the retired owner of the Stein Tavern.
He was born June 20, 1898, in Port Royal, Pa., and had lived here since 1950, coming form Lewsiton[sic]. On June 22, 1923 in Lewiston, he married Eva K. Billett, who survives.
Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Mildred Elliotte of Royal Oak, Mich.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Halbritter Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold O. Schaap of Edwardsburg officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Halbritter Funeral Home.
