    Roy Hand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hand, of 1305 Regent street, died of pneumonia in St. Elizabeth's hospital at Dayton, O., yesterday, aged 27 years.
    Mr. Hand, who was employed as an electrician in a government plant at Dayton, was born in this county June 22, 1891. He was graduated from Berrien Springs high school in 1909 and subsequently served as a conductor on the interurban line of the Southern Michigan Railway Co.  Prior to leaving here in 1912, he worked for William Bowerman, the electrician.
    On Dec. 24, 1912, Mr. Hand was married to Miss Lillian Burns of McDonald, Pa., who survives him, as do his three children --Joe, Robert and Winifred--his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hand, and his sister, Mrs. Carl Dick, and his brother, Meryl Hand, of this city.  His parents were with him when the end came, they having been summoned to Dayton several days ago.
    The body will arrive tomorrow and will be taken to the home of the parents of the deceased. The young man was highly esteemed by all who knew him and his untimely taking off is to be greatly deplored.

    The death of Roy Hand, which occurred yesterday afternoon at 2:40 o'clock in St. Elizabeth's hosptial, at Dayton, Ohio, after a brief illness of pneumonia, comes as a shock to his many friends in this city.
    Deceased was born on the Hand farm, eight miles north of Niles, June 12, 1891, and moved to this city with his parents, in 1911.  He was graduated from the Berrien Springs high school with the class of 1909.
    Six years ago he went to Pittsburgh, Pa., later moving to Dayton, Ohio, where he was employed in an aeroplane factory.
    For a number of years Mr. Hand was conductor for the Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan railway, and at one time was employed as electrician for Wm. Bowerman in this city.
    Besides his wife he is survived by three children, Jo[sic], Robert and Winifred; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hand, one sister, Mrs. Carl Dick, and one brother, Merle Hand, all of this city.
    The body will be brought to this city tomorrow afternoon for burial and announcement of the funeral will  be made later.
    Mr. Hand was very popular with a host of friends in this city and Dayton, Ohio.
His grief stricken relatives have the sympathy of their friends in their bereavement.

    The funeral services for Roy Hand whose body was brought to Niles from Dayton, O., on Saturday, were held this afternoon from the residence of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hand, 1304 Regent street. Rev. E.G. Lewis conducted the services.  Interment occurred at Silver Brook cemetery.
