Agnes V. Miller

Agnes Victoria Miller, 92, of Horton Court, Niles, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, in West Woods of Niles, following a brief illness.
She was born on April 11, 1917, in Niles Township, Michigan to George H. and Lucia C.(Anderson) Smith. She graduated from Niles High School in 1934 and attended her 75 Class Reunion. She was a lifetime resident of Niles and wintered in Florida. She retired in 1980 after 20 years of service as a realtor form Kelly Real Estate in Niles.
Agnes attended Emmanuel Bible Baptist Church, Niles. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #332, Niles, where she was a 50 years pin recipient. She held both a Michigan and Florida Real Estates License. She enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, shopping at the Marshall –Shop in Dowagiac, MI, long drives in the country and spending time with her family.
On August 17, 1957, she first married William Van Emmons who preceded her in death on March 20, 1980. She was then married on September 7, 1983 to John Lewis Wilson who preceded her in death on april 24, 1997. Later, on Febraury 28, 2004 in Deer Creek, IL, she married Roy W. Miller, who survives.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her stepchildren, Judith A. Chelf of Mason, MI, Terry D. Robinson of Hendersonville, NC, Penny L. Lester of Rockledge, FL, Barbara Curry of Rock Hill, SC, Sandra K. Dickson of Normal, IL, Thomas H. Miller of Niles and John David Wilson of Fedeal Way, WA; grandchildren, Kay Payne of Niles, Beth A. Mumaw of Bradenton, FL, Jane A. Lucero of Niles, Paulanne Chelf of Madison, WI, Julane Hummelsbach of Galena, OH, Christopher J. Chelf of Hastings, MI, Scott M. Chelf of Holt, MI; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; stepdaughter, Gerry E. York who died January 25, 1999; grandson, Greg Schrumpf who died August 28,1 983, and brothers, George and Frank Smith.
The funeral service for Agnes Victoria Miller will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Emmanuel Bible Baptist church, Niles, with Pastor Brad Lomax officiating.
Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
