Funeral services for Louis R. "Ray" Pease, 75, 2001 South Thirteenth Street, Niles, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, by Mr. Kendall Krause, a friend of the family.

Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

Pease died Monday t 2:15 a.m. at Lakeland Continuing Care Center, Berrien Center, following a brief illness.

He was born Dec. 20, 1923 in Truman, Ark. He had lived in this area most of his life.

On Sept. 6, 1947, in South Bend, Ind., he married the former Eleanore B. Adrysiak, who preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 1979.

He retired in 1986 as an employee of Washoe County, Nev. He had also been employed as an assessor, builder, realtor, and contractor.

Pease enjoyed travelling in the United States and visiting family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Pease, and a sister, Cathy Whitaker.

Surviving family includes a son, David Pease of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Carol Eull of Niles and Melissa Pease of Grass Valley, Calif.; four brothers, John Pease of Niles, Homer Pease of Niles, Dudley Pease of Baldwin and James Pease of Dowagiac; and two sisters, Louise Wanko of Niles and Muriel Swierz of Plam Harbor, Fla.

Friends may call one hour prior to the services at Halbritter Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Home.

Mr. Louis R. ''Ray'' Pease, 75, of 2001 S. Thirteenth Street, Niles, Mich., died following a brief illness at 2:15 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 28,  1998 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center - Berrien Center, Mich.

Mr. Pease was born on Dec. 20, 1923, at Truman, Ark., to John Lester and Kate (Varble) Pease, and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a well-known housebuilding contractor, and had also been a Realtor and an Assessor. He was retired in 1986 as an Assessor for Washoe County, Nev.

He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, and enjoyed visiting family and friends.

On Sept. 6, 1947, in South Bend, Ind., he was married to the former Eleanore B. Andrysiak, who preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 1979. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Pease; and by a sister, Cathy Whitaker.

Funeral services for Louis Ray Pease will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with Mr. Kendall Krause, a friend of the family officiating. Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
