Patrick K. Patterson

Patrick Kelton Patterson, 72, of Fair Oaks North, Niles, Mich., died following an extended illness at 6:50 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2005 in his home.
He was born on March 7, 1933, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, to S.J. Patterson Sr. and Archie Lucille (White) Patterson. Patrick had lived in Niles since 1956, coming from Lepanto, Arkansas.
On April 9, 1956, in Marked Tree, Arkansas, he married Peggy L. (Timbs) Patterson, who survives. Mr. Patterson is also survived by two sons, Ken Patterson of Niles and Patrick John Patterson of Rowlett, Texas; a daughter, Patty Lou Britton of Parchment, Michigan; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; six sisters, Mildred Ophelia Marshall of Lepanto, Arkansas, Margie Rachel Guidry of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, Patsy Ruth Sumerall of Nacogdoches, Texas, Vonnie Annette Colon of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Juanita Mills of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Beverly Ann Benedikt of Nuevo, California; and by four brothers, James Aubrey Patterson of Columbus, Mississippi, Jimmie Bernard Patterson of Niles, William Floyd Patterson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Troy Mitchell Patterson of Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by one brother, S.J. Patterson Jr.
Funeral service for Patrick Kelton Patterson will be held in Halbritter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, with Pastor Terry Colby of Bethel Baptist Church and Rev. Alan Poage of Niles officiating. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles, where full military rites will be performed by the Buchanan American Legion Post #51. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Deaf Association or to Hospice at Home.
