Funeral services for J.R. Rudolph, 60, of 1968 Lewis Drive, Niles, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Halbrittter Funeral Home by the Rev. Lloyd A. Phillips of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.

Mr. Rudolph died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind., following an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 12, 1930,in Almond, Ark., and moved to Niles in 1954.

On Jan. 14, 1950 in Batesville, Ark., he married Barbara Ann Parmer who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Lois Mallory and Barbara Sue Rudolph, both of Niles; two sons, John R. Rudolph and Joe A. Rudolph, both of Niles, a sister Edna Bell Jeffrey of Almond, Ark.; a brother, Douglas G. Rudolph of Ozark, Ark.; and six grandchildren.

Visitations will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral home.

Memorial contributions made[sic] be made to the Lung Association.

Helen M. Schrader

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen M. Schrader, 54, 51444 US 31-North, who died at 12:10 p.m. , Sunday, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, will be conducted in the Pifer Home Wednesday at 2 p.m.   The Rev. Paul Harris, pastor of the Congregational Community Church of Roseland will officiate.  Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. She had been ill 10 days.

Mrs. Schrader was born Sept. 11, 1908, in South Bend, and lived her lifetime in the Niles-South Bend area.

Survivors include her husband, Chris; her father, John Monahon, Niles; a son, John C. South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Johnson, Niles; four brothers, Fred, Lewis, James, and Rolland, all of Niles, and a sister, Miss Irma Monahon, also of Niles; and five grandchildren.

Friends are being received at the funeral home.

Herman F. Schrumpf

Herman F. Schrumpf, 75, 79 Desaix St., died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday at his home following an illness of three years.

Mr. Schrumpf, a retired foreman of Tyler Refrigeration Corp., was born Nov. 13, 1884, in Niles and had lived in this community his entire life. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ (Evangelical and Reformed), the Men's Brotherhood of the church, the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, Modern Woodmen of America and the Daughters of America.

Surviving are his widow, Addie; four daughters, Mrs. John Horner and Mrs. Ray Kirk, both of Niles; Mrs [illegible] Kirk, Dayton, Mich; and Mrs. Carl Rossow, Buchanan; two sons, George Schrumpf, Niles, and Kenneth Bothwell, Niles; 14 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's United Church of Christ with the pastor, the Rev. Herbert Meussling, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home until noon Saturday.

Members of the Daughters of America will meet at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home to conduct memorial services.  Members also have been asked to meet Saturday afternoon at the church to attend funeral services.

Lloyd Otto Schultz

Lloyd Otto Schultz, 37, 321 1/2 Bertrand rd., died at 6:30 a.m. today in Pawating Hospital where he had been a patient since Feb. 19. He had been ill for several years.

Mr. Schultz, a janitor for the Fishing & Tackle Products of America, South Bend, was born Nov. 18, 1922, in Gary, Ind., and came to Niles from Buchanan 13 years ago. He was married on July 7, 1947 in Niles to Mary Corwin, who survives.

Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schultz, Buchanan, and a brother, Harry Schultz, Gary Ind.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Kiger and Halbritter Funeral home with the Rev. Herbert Meussling, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ (Evangelical and Reformed), officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Saturday noon.

Kathrina Seifert

Mrs. Seifert, 73, Dies After Crash in South Bend

Mrs. Kathrina Seifert, 73, who died Tuesday in her home in South Bend of injuries suffered Dec. 28 when struck by an automobile in South Bend, was a former resident of Niles.

She was a sister of the late John Bauman and the late Mrs. Charles Pfeil.  Mrs. Seifert was born in Germany, Sept. 23, 1866, but spent most of her early girlhood in Niles. She is survived by two step-children, Mrs. Hattie Gilliland, Detroit, and Mrs. Mayme Jennings, Marion, O.; two sisters, Mrs. Rena Fritz, Detroit, and Mrs. Laura Motz, in Canada, and a brother, Henry Bauman, also in Canada.

Friends may call at the home, 513 South Bend avenue, tonight. Services will be conducted Friday at 1 o'clock in the L.H. Orvis chapel by the Rev. Waldemar Goffeney, pastor of Eton Evangelical and Reformed church. The body will be brought here to Silverbrook cemetery for burial. Her husband, Andrew S. Seifert, died Dec. 4, 1939.

No funeral services for Richard E. Singleton, 62, 265 Roosevelt Dr., Niles.

The remains have been cremated.

Singleton died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday at Pawating Hospital following a brief illness.

Born Aug. 30, 1930, in South Bend, he was a lifetime area resident.

On Oct. 19, 1948, in Niles, he married the former Wanita Bell Baxter, who survives.

He was a retired truck driver for C&E Trucking Co., of South Bend.

Survivors include his mother Azuba Singleton of Niles; two daughters, Linda Moyer of Niles and Kimberly LaPlace of Georgia; two sons, Richard Singleton of Goshen,Ind., and Chris Singleton of Niles; five grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Hillyer of Niles and Jack Singleton of Niles.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association.
