Committal services for Mrs. Marietta Amelia Notbohm, 92, who died Thursday night at Battle Creek, were conducted at Silverbrook Cemetery today by the Rev. J.W. Hill, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Born April. 9, 1862 in Detroit, she came to Niles with her parents, Joseph and Elsie Mitchell in 1865. The family home was at 901 Cherry street. After graduating from Michigan College, she studied art at Pratt College, Brooklyn, N.Y. and served as art instructor at Wisconsin . . . [illegible] . . .
She married Richard Cogdon Notbohm Aug. 8, 1900, at Milwaukee. He died in 1933. After his death Mrs. Notbohm operated a confectionary store in Milwaukee several years before moving to Battle Creek where she lived with her nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Irving M. Carr, 3863 West Michigan avenue. He is the only immediate survivor.
Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Sloughter Funeral Home at Augusta near Battle Creek.
