Marlin Boy Dies in Niles Hospital of Leukemia Disease

Donald E. Marlin, 14 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Orin Marlin, 60 Marmont street, who had been suffering from lymphatic leukemia for the past 10 days, died at 7:55 p.m. Sunday in Pawating hospital.

Besides his parents, he leaves the following brothers and sisters: Lloyd, Evelyn, Robert, Lavonde, James Howard, Kenneth, Jack and Jerry. He was born in Gaylord, Mich., on July 4, 1935, and came here seven years ago. He was a student.

Friends may call at the Pifer funeral home, where services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday by Lt. James Moore of the Salvation Army. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

News in Brief: DEATH OF MRS. JOHN PEARS

Mrs. Myrtle Hartsell Pears died at her home, 533 W. Main street at 11:45 last evening after 13 months of illness. She was born in Pokagon township, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Westley Hartsell. She is survived by her husband, John Pears, one son, her mother who is 86 years of age and who made her home with Mrs. Pears, one sister, Mrs. Charles Young, of Niles, and three brothers, Clyde Hartsell, Niles; Lemme Hartsell, of Dowagiac; and Carson Hartsell, of Pokagon, Mrs. Pears was devoted to her home. She was possessed of a kindly disposition and many friends mourn her death. The funeral plans will be announced later.

Niles News in Brief: FUNERAL OF BABY QUIGLEY

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 in the Rutherford funeral home for the son born on April 17, 1930, to Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Quigley, of Princeton, MO., at the home of her sister Mrs. Levi C. Glisson, 322 S. Third street. The child died last evening at 8:30 after a brief illness. He was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Quigley. Burial will be made in Silver Brook cemetery. Mr. Quigley is motoring to Niles today from Princeton, and Mrs. Quigley's mother, Mrs. J.B. Robinson of Princeton, Mo., arrived by train this morning and another sister Mrs. H.L. Rolston, of Princeton has been here for several weeks.

Niles News in Brief: FUNERAL FOR QUIGLEY BABY

Funeral services for the son born on April 17, to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Quigley, of Princeton, Ill., at the home of her sister, Mrs. Levi C. Glisson, 322 S. Third street, and who died on Tuesday evening were held this afternoon. The Rev. A.C. Shaw, pastor of the Church of Christ conducted the services. Burial was made in Silver Brook cemetery.

Mrs. John Walter, Life Resident of Niles, Dies Today

Mrs. Emma Walter, life-long resident of Niles, died this morning at 6:45 in her home at 521 Hickory street. She had been ill two weeks.

Mrs. Walter was born in Niles Jan 24, 1872. Her maiden name was Roskay. She was married Oct. 19, 1892, to John H. Walter, who survives.

She is survived also by a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Thompson, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Abbott, Niles.

Friends may call at the family home after 7 tonight. Funeral services will be conducted there Wednesday after at 2:30. The Rev. Edwin Castle, South Bend, will officiate and burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

James M. Robertson

JAMES ROBERTSON DIES; ILL TWO DAYS

James M. Robertson, 56, died Wednesday night at 11:45 in Pawating hospital after an illness of two days. He was a member of the Masonic lodge here.

Mrs. Robertson was born June 28, 1885, in Broken Bow Neb., and came to Niles 36 years ago from Kansas City. He was a machinist and had worked the last year at the Clark Equipment company, Buchanan.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three brothers, William, Niles; Alex, Ogden, Utah; John, Kansas city; and four sisters, Miss Elizabeth Robertson, Mrs. Helen Wilson, Mrs. Jessie Krummis and Mrs. Mary Lofton, all of Kansas City.

Friends may call at the Pifer funeral home where services will be conducted Saturday

afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. Guy W. Simon will officiate and burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
