Funeral services for Nettie m. Kiste, 95, of 1404 Ontario Road, Niles, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Halbritter Funeral Home by the Rev. Arnold O. Schaap of Edwardsburg.

Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

Mrs. Kiste died at 3:58 p.m. Wednesday at her home following an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 13, 1895, in Union and had lived in this area most of her life.

On Sept. 15, 1928, in South Bend, Ind., she married Charles Edward Kiste, who preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1969.

Survivors include two daughters, Lena York and Ethel Thomas, both of Niles; three sons, Harold Gould, Charles Kiste, Jr., and Harry Kiste, all of Niles; 5 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Lula Belle Salle, preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1972.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Halbritter Funeral Home.

Eugene Ausmus Dies at Home of Parents

Eugene William Ausmus, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Frizzell, died at his home seven miles north of Niles at 4:30 o'clock Wednesday.

He is survived by his parents, three brothers, James, Sherman and Dale, all at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Ausmus, and a grandmother, Mrs. William Linsenmier.

The deceased was born in Niles on December 28, 1917 and had been an invalid since birth.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Price and Kiger funeral home.  The Rev. Theo Eisen, pastor of St. John's Evangelical church will officiate. Interment will be held in Silverbrook cemetery.

TO HOLD AUSMUS RITES

Funeral services for Eugene William Ausmus, who died a Wednesday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Frizzell, will be held at the Price and Kiger funeral home at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Theo Eisen, pastor of St. John's Evangelical church, officiating.  Interment will be held in Silverbrook cemetery.  Friends are asked to note the change in the time of the services.

Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Ruth Barnes

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Barnes, 67, 422 West Main street, who died at her home at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, were held at 2 :30 o'clock this afternoon at the Trinity Episcopal church with the Rev. Nicholson officiating.  Burial was made in Silverbrook cemetery.

Mrs. Barnes was born in England, July 23, 1866. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Theodore Goodling, Rockport, N.Y., and Miss Ethel Barnes, Niles; three sons, Floyd and Cressell, Niles and Ray, in Los Angeles, Cal. She is also survived by nine grandchildren. 

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Webb, Clarence Webb and William Webb, Saginaw, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Binns, White Plains, N.Y.

BARNES RITES HELD

Services for Mrs. Ruth Barnes, 67, who died at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at her home 422 West Main street, were held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Trinity Episcopal church with the Rev. Nicholson officiating. Burial was made in Silverbrook cemetery.

Mrs. Bertha Bessemer, Invalid 5 years, Dies.

Mrs. Bertha Bessemer, 67, 6 South Barrett street, died at her home at 6 o'clock Sunday night. Five years ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis and had since been an invalid.

Mrs. Bessemer is survived by her husband, John Bessemer, two sisters, Mrs. L. Gulbranson, Chicago,and Mrs. Rose Persch, Niles; one brother, Leon List, Chicago.

Friends of the deceased may view the body at the Price and Kiger funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock  Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Theodore Eisen, pastor of the St. John's Evangelical church, officiating. Interment will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

FORMER RESIDENT DIES

Emile Bristol, 87, well known in Niles and former resident of the Pokagon district, died at 10:15 o'clock last night in Cleveland, O.

She is survived by a brother, Meredith Bristol, Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. F.J. Moore, Cleveland.  The body will be brought to the Rutherford funeral home Sunday morning. Other arrangements are incomplete.

Among those who attended the funeral services at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Rutherford Funeral home for Miss Emile Bristol, a former resident of Niles, were Mrs. Jennie Moore and daughter, and Mrs. Davies, Lakewood, O.; Mr. and Mrs. Meredith Bristol and Mr. and Mrs. Carlton, Chicago. 

Services were conducted by the Rev. G.W. Simon, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, and burial was in Silverbrook cemetery.

Robert D. Cody Dies at N. Fifth St. Home

Robert Daniel Cody, 72, 1330 North Fifth street, died at his home at 8:50 o'clock this morning, after a two years' illness.

He was born June 10, 1862, in Buffalo, N.Y.,and came to Niles seven years ago from Malta, Mont.  In 1883 he married Miss Florence Perkins at Midland, Mich.

Besides his wife, the deceased is survived by four sons, Earl, Roy and Russell, all of Niles, and Lauren, San Pedro, Cal.; four daughters, Mrs. Roy Wiest and Miss Ruth Cody, Niles, Mrs. James Brewer, Forget, Sask., and Mrs. George Johnson, Malta, Mont.; two brothers, F.A. Cody, San Jose, Cal., and A.S. Cody, Buffalo, N.Y.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Rutherford funeral home. Other arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Robert D. Cody, 72, 1330 North Fifth street, who died at his home Thursday morning were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Rutherford funeral home with the Rev. Robert E. Meader, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, officiating.   Interment will be made in Silverbrook cemetery.

Mary Davis, 16, Died in Pawating Hospital

Mary Davis, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davis, 1210 Phoenix street, died at 6:0 p.m.  Wednesday at Pawating hospital after a week's illness.

She is survived by her parents and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Rutherford funeral home at 2:30 'clock Friday afternoon. The Rev. Guy W. Simon, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate.  Burial will be made in Silverbrook cemetery.

HOLD DAVIS RITES TODAY

Funeral services for Mary Davis, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davis, 1210 Phoenix street, who died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pawating hoepital, were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Rutherford funeral home.  The Rev. Guy W. Simon officiated and interment was held in Silverbrook cemetery.
