NILES—Mrs. Hazel O. Gallagher, 81, of 1431 Regent St., was dead on arrival at Pawating Hospital at 11:30 p.m. Saturday following an apparent heart attack. She had been ill health for some time.
Mrs. Gallagher was born May 13, 1894 in Chicago and came to Niles in 1921. Her husband, John, whom she married that year in Chicago, died Aug. 13 1943. Mrs. Gallagher was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was treasurer of Maple City Lodge of the Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
Surviving are two sons, William of Niles and James of Edwardsburg; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Marilyn) Catt of Albany, Ore., seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John R. Wyngarden will officiate and burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Halbritter Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the radio fund of the First Presbyterian Church.
