George Gullett, 65, 845 Carberry Road, was pronounced dead on arrival at 12:10 p.m. Thursday at Pawating Hospital after being stricken at his home with a heart attack.
Mr. Gullett, a retired employee of the New York Central Railroad, was born May 27, 1895, in Westpoint, Miss., and came to Niles 13 years ago from Hayti, Mo.
Surviving besides his widow, Roberta; his mother, Mrs. Harriett Gullett, Greenwood, Miss., a daughter, Miss Georgia Gullett, at home; a step-daughter, Mrs. John Taylor, Niles; four grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. Emma Jackson, Eat St. Louis, Ill., Miss Josephine Gullett, Westpoint, Miss., and Mrs. Mary Spencer and Mrs. Earlene Caridine, both Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Saturday in Mount Olive Baptist Church with the pastor, The Rev. Eugene Jones, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends will be received until noon Saturday at the Pifer Funeral Home.
