MRS. EMMA MAHONEY DIES IN 84TH YEAR
Lifelong Resident of Niles Passes Away at Home of Her Daughter
Mrs. Emma R. Mahoney, 84, widow of James Mahoney and a life-long resident of Niles, died Tuesday afternoon in the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.J. Geideman, 441 South St. Joseph avenue.
Mrs. Mahoney was born in Niles Jan. 19, 1852. She was the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Brown and one of 10 children. Only one sister survives, Mrs. Frank Claverign, Chicago.
She leaves also her daughter, Mrs. Geideman; two granddaughters, Mrs. Irma Taft and Mrs. Dorothy McVeigh, and two great-grandchildren, Eugene and Jane McVeigh, all of Niles.
The body was taken to the Price and Kiger funeral home where services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The Rev. Harry L. Nicholson, rector of Trinity Episcopal church, will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
