Judy F. Graziani, 60, of Niles, Michigan died with her family gathered around her bed at 2:35 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1954, in Niles, Michigan to Lovell and Edith (Yahne) Pitcher. She was a lifetime Niles resident and helped in the family business, Milano’s Pizza.

Judy attended Michiana Christian Embassy in Niles.

On March 26, 1973, in Saint Joseph, Michigan she married Nick Graziani with whom she would have celebrated the forty-second anniversary of their wedding this month.

Surviving family includes her husband, Nick Graziani and their children, Korrie (Rob) Krueger, Nikki (Steve) Brown, and Tony (Nikki) Graziani, all of Niles; grandchildren Nicholas, Alex, Lexi, Aiden, Mia, Ryne, and Zoe; Judy’s siblings, David (Dorothy) Pitcher, Larry (Cathy) Pitcher, Jerry (Nora) Pitcher, all of Niles, Sandra Barnaby of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Janet (Leo) Martinez, Pat (Wes) Allen, Bernie (Cheri) Pitcher and Lonnie Pitcher, all of Niles, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service for Judy Graziani will be at Noon on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Michiana Christian Embassy in Niles with the Rev. Jeffrey Whittaker of the church officiating. Interment will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday (April 6) at church, beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Judy may be made to the Michiana Christian Embassy, 1922 East Main Street, Niles, Michigan 49120.

Hartman, Kay Margaret (Shepardson)

Kay Margaret Hartman, 79, of Niles, Michigan, died on Monday, April 13, 2015, at Lakeland Health in Niles following a brief illness. She was born Aug. 30, 1935 in Niles to Fred and Myrtle (Hipshier) Shepardson.

Kay was a 1953 graduate of Niles High School and a member of the “53 Club.” She was a secretary for the Kawneer Company in Niles where she met her husband, Donald Hartman. They were married Sept. 8, 1956 in Niles and soon after started their family. Kay enjoyed baking, traveling and camping with her family and was most proud of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1967.

Surviving family includes two daughters, Shelley Bell of Koontz Lake, Indiana and Karen (& Mike) Treadway of Mishawaka; two sons, Mark (Sherri) Hartman of Niles and Steven (Kaye) Hartman of Glendale, California; six grandchildren, Christina Frank, Nicholas Hartman, Brienna Bell, Tristan Bell, Jackson Treadway and Reese Hartman; great-grandson Morgan Frank and Kay’s twin sister, Fay Richards of Niles.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Donald, who died on Dec. 17, 2006 as well as by her brothers, Roy Shepardson, Dale Shepardson and Max Shepardson.

The funeral service for Kay Margaret Hartman will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015, at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Donald Fleischman officiating. Interment will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the funeral home. Donations in memory of Kay may be made to the organization of donor’s choice.

Juanita Jackson, 68, of Niles passed away at 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at her home.

Juanita was born on Jan. 2, 1947, to the late Earnest Jackson and Beatrice Weeks in Belzone, Mississippi. She loved fishing, cooking and playing bingo.

She is survived by her children, Eugene (Krystol) Jackson, Paris Jackson, Felicia Jackson and Tara Jackson, 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Louis Weeks.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service from 11-12. Dale K. Mangold Sr., 86, of Niles passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at Riveridge Manor, Niles.

He was born Nov. 27, 1927, to the late Helen and Alman Mangold in Three Oaks. On July 31, 1948 he married Donna McKinney. After 66 years of marriage, Donna passed away two months ago on Sept. 11, 2014.

He is survived by his children, Rita (Steve, Jr.) Simon of Niles, Diana (Larry) Bess of Paw Paw and Dale (Vickie) Mangold, Jr. of Niles; sister, Thelma Heimel; eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by six brothers.

Irene J Stackhouse, 102, of Niles passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Irene was born on October 17, 1912 to the late William and Bessie Temple in Murfresboro, Tennessee. On May 4, 1945 she married Jesse A Stackhouse at a ceremony in Niles. Irene was a member of the First Church of Christ in Niles and Rebaka Lodge since 1945. She is survived by her children, Charlotte Cinninger, Dennis Stackhouse and Linda Cox; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren. Irene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse on August 18, 2003; sons, Phillip and Charles Marrs; sister, Lucille Chilson; brother Leonard Temple, one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 at First Church of Christ in Niles. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery. Danny Zimmerman, 69, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at home unexpectedly, but of natural causes.

He was born April 2, 1945 in Niles, Michigan to Donald and Betty Lou (Harger) Zimmerman. Danny was a 1964 graduate of Niles High School and attended North Virgina Community College and Indiana University in South Bend, Indiana. He served two tours in Vietnam in the United States Marine Corps, then served in the Army Reserves. He worked in the Department of Corrections in both Washington, D.C. and Indiana and was also employed as a truck driver. Danny was a member of the Edwardsburg American Legion Post #365, and enjoyed bowling, golfing, visiting casinos and playing poker with his family.

Surviving family includes children, Ricky (Dawn) Zimmerman of Toledo, Ohio, Lori (Randy) Rogers of Akron, Ohio, and Francesca Zimmermann of Edwardsburg; three brothers, Billy (Wilma) Zimmerman of Niles, David (Tina) Zimmerman of Mishawaka, Indiana, Dale (Doreen) Zimmerman; one sister, Linda (Tom) Mason of South Bend, Indiana; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sue Schultz, and one grandchild.

The funeral service for Danny Zimmerman will be held at Noon on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Ray Fulbright of the Saint John United Church of Christ in Niles, officiating, and will conclude with full military honors.

Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Contributions in memory of Danny may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the Diabled American Veterans.
