Anna Hansen

Mrs. Anna Hansen, 94, of Woodruff Street, Niles, Mich., died following an extended illness at 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, in Niles.
She was born on March 15, 1903, at Mountain Lake, Minn., to Anna (Klassen) and Isaac Penner, and had lived in Niles since 1943, coming from Iowa.
Mrs. Hansen was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Niles. She was a past member of Navy Mothers and World War II Mothers; a member of the Past Presidents Club of World War II Mothers; and was also active in the Cub Scouts as a den mother. Mrs. Hansen loved to crochet and bake cookies, but her real love was for her children and grandchildren.
She married Christ F. Hansen on Feb. 25, 1924, at Mountain Lake, Minn. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1963. Mrs. Hansen was also preceded in death by two daughters, Gladys Ray in 1996 and Sharon Hansen in 1962; a son, Harry Hansen in 1945; and by a brother and two sisters.
She is survived by six sons, Christ Hansen of Berrien Springs, Mich., Jerry Hansen of Dennison, Texas, Gene Hansen of Niles, Donald Hansen of Seaford, Dela., Jan Hansen of Richmond, Va., and Lonnie Hansen of Cypress, Calif.; three daughters, Yetive Carr of Cassopolis, Mich., Joy Nichols of Niles and Vicki Bliss of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and by four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Niles, with the Rev. Robert M. Zagore of the church officiating. Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.
The family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Halbritter Funeral Home.
