Mary Ellen Lansdale, 70, of Westfield Drive, Niles, died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Silverbrook Manor, Niles, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Niles, with the Rev. Emmett H. Kadwell, Jr., of the church, officiating.
Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, where the Order of the Eastern Star will remember her at 7:30 p.m.
She was born on Jan. 3, 1938, in Niles, to Henry Phillip Heinien and Edna Pearl Biederman.
She was a life long resident of Niles and graduated from Niles High School in 1955.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Niles, Order of the Easter Star Niles Chapter No. 332. She enjoyed knitting, crochet and cooking.
Lansdale learned to use the Internet and enjoyed it.
On June 7, 1958, in Niles, she married Billy C. Lansdale, who died Dec. 18, 2003.
Surviving family includes a daughter, Kimberly Ellen Lansdale of Niles; a granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Severeid and a brother, Fred E. Hill of Niles.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Niles.
Arrangements were by Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.

Dorothy E. Lane, 89, of Hickory Street, Niles, died Wednesday (Feb. 23, 2005) in Lakeland Hospital after an illness. Survivors include five daughters, Thelma Worl, Shirley Joanis, Diana Farris and Patsy Mead, all of Niles, and Susan Horvath of South Bend; and three sons, Richard, Kenneth and Terry all of Niles. Services will be at 9:20 a.m. Saturday in Halbritter Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Lane, Danny Roy Sr.

Danny Roy Lane, Sr., 48, of 642 Clark Street, Niles, Mich., died following a brief illness at 4 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, 1999, in his home.

He was born in Niles on March 23, 1951, to Lavall L. and Dorothy (Luther) Lane, and was a lifetime resident.

Mr. Lane was a maintenance man for 15 years with Creation Windows in Elkhart, Ind. He was also the administrator of Niles Moose Lodge #978.

On Oct. 3, 1970, in Cassopolis, Mich., he married the former Delores Dewey, who survives.

He is also survived by his children, Melinda (Phillip) Spencer, Melissa (John) Kelley and Danny Lane, Jr., all of Niles; stepchildren, Rhonda (John) Leath of Mishawaka, Ind., and Michael (Cathy) Mathews of South Bend, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; his mother, Dorothy Lane of Niles; siblings, Betty Thomas, Nancy Amundson, Diana Farris, Richard Lane, Kenneth Lane, Terry Lane, Shirley Joanis, Thelma Worl, Patsy Mead, all of Niles, and Susan Horvat of South Bend.

Funeral services for Mr. Lane will be at 10 a.m. today, May 29, in the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with The Reverend David D. DeVoll of Coulter's Chapel Church of God officiating. Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.

Contributions in memory of Mr. Lane may be made to the American Heart Association.

Lane, Calvin G.

Calvin G. Lane
May 18, 1937-March 26, 1995

Calvin G. ''Sonnie'' Lane, 57, of 2250 U.S. 12 East, Niles, died at 1:55 a.m. Sunday March 26, 1995, in his home after an illness. Mr. Lane was former owner/operator of Niles Radio Supply Co. He was born May 18, 1937, in South Bend. On Nov. 16, 1962, in Niles, he married Marilyn M. Geideman. She survives with two daughters, Sherry Pleimling and Nancy Westveer, both of Niles; three sons, Ronald of Niles, John of Berrien Springs and Allen of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Lane of Niles; seven sisters, Betty Thomas, Nancy Amundson, Thelma Worl, Diana Stowe, Patsy Meade and Shirley Joanis, all of Niles, and Susan Horvath of South Bend; and four brothers, Lavall R., Kenneth, Terry and Danny, all of Niles. He was an Army veteran and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and Moose Lodge 599, Elkhart.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Halbritter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Landeck, Alice I.

Alice I. Landeck
Oct. 25, 1916-Aug. 24, 1994

Alice I. Landeck, 77, of 1115 North St., Niles, died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 24, 1994,  after an illness. Mrs. Landeck had been employed by Simplicity Pattern. She was born Oct. 25, 1916, in Michigan City. On July 1, 1939, in Niles, she married George M. Landeck. He died Sept. 28, 1980. Surviving are two sons, Larry of Stevensville and Robert of Niles; five grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Roberts of Niles. She was a member of American Legion Post 26 and Elks Lodge.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Halbritter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Berrien County Cancer Society.

Ann L. Lambiotte, 61, of 1645 Howard St., died this morning (Sept. 10, 1965) in her home. She had been ill about two months.

Mrs. Lambiotte, an office employee of the Niles Printing Company was born Feb. 20, 1904 in Athens, Ala. She came to Niles from Mishawaka 30 years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Oscar Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. Larry Vanderboegh, Niles and Mrs. Richard Horvath, Jacksonville, FL; five sisters, Mrs. Cloyce Aller, Finley, Ohio, Mrs. George Pensyl, Kittering, OH, Mrs. Clara Baum, Miami, FL, and Mrs. E.V. McKee, Tucson, AR; a brother, Edward Stover of Oakwood, Ohio; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Methodist Church. The Rev. Leon Manning pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Pifer Funeral Home from 7 p.m. Saturday until noon Monday.

Julia Lambert

Niles Resident 46 years, dies 

Mrs. Julie A. Lambert resident of Niles 46 years, died Friday July 25, 1941 at 10 in her home at 998 Platt Street. She had been ill nine months of cancer.

Mrs. Lambert was born July 9, 1890, in Buchanan and came to Niles when she was five years old. She was a member of the Old Faith Assembly Church.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Lambert; four children, Albert Weaver and Mrs. Loretta Arnold, Niles and Earl Weaver and Mrs. Lillian Brand, Elkhart, Ind.; four sisters, Mrs. Gratina McOmber and Mrs. Pearl Causey, Niles, and Mrs. Caroline Haines and Mrs. Grace Purdy, South Bend; three brothers, Charles Maddron, Niles, Elsa Maddron, Benton Harbor, Ernest Maddron, Bertrand and three grandchildren. Friends may call at the Rutherford Funeral Home where services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 3:30. Mrs. Ruth Lunch will officiate at the services and burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
