George Kimmick, 67, formerly of Niles and brother of Florence and [illegible] Kimmick of Niles, died Monday at Kalamazoo, Mich.

He was born in Niles on May 16, 1865.

Also surviving is another sister, Mrs. L.D. Robbins, Boise, Ida.

Funeral services will be held at the Kiger Funeral Home Wednesday at 4 p.m. with  the Rev. Herbert Meussling, pastor of the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Alma Ann Rieske
March 19, 1905-April 26, 1953

Miss Alma Ann Rieske, 1405 North Fifth Street, died at 11 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend. She had been in poor health for eight years.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Martha Ausmus, Niles. Miss Rieske, a surgical nurse, was born on March 19, 1905, in Germany, and came here from California five years ago.

Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. T.M. Greenhoe, Presbyterian pastor. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Edward M. Brohman

BERRIEN SPRINGS, March 31--Edward H. Brohman, 72, of Long Lake community, south of Berrien Springs, died Saturday night in Tampa, Fla. He had been ill about a year with a heart ailment.

Brohman was born May 23, 1879 in Richmond, Ind., and came to Berrien Springs in 1904. His wife [died in 1945].

He is survived by three sons, Paul, of Long Lake community, Lester, of Mt. Tabor, and Leonard, of South Bend; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Tusing, also of South Bend; one brother, Frederick Brohman, of Richmond, Ind., and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the McLauchlin funeral home with the Rev. Roger Stressman, pastor of the Arden Evangelical United Brethren church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery in Niles.

Clement L. Barron
Oct. 14, 1813-May 9, 1894

CROSSED THE RIVER

Clement L. Barron passed away this morning at 5 o'clock at the home of his daughter on 3d street, as peacefully and quietly as a weary sojourner wraps himself into the hands of morpheus. There was no disease about him. His pulse and temperature were normal. His mind was clear to the last. It was a clear case of old age. The tabernacle was worn out. He had fulfilled his mission. His time and expired and he joined his companions on the other side, where his troubles cease.  He was a native of England, his parents moving and settling at St.Joseeh[sic] about 1837. The family moved to this place about 1841, and his father was a practising physician.  Mr. Barron was for a long time clerk in a dry goods store and afterwards carried on a mercantile store himself.  He has filled the office of Justice of the peace in this city for 20 years with great satisfaction and strict integrity. It seems every one was his friend. He was ever a natural gentleman, a genial and kind companion in the field of sport. He has mourned the loss of his loved companion for seven years or more.  He married her in England in 1847.

Mr. Barron has been all his life collecting a museum and he has relics and a thousand valuable articles which would adorn any museum in our country. He has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Weatherby, since he lost his wife.  No man will be more missed in this community than Esquire Barron. Had he lived until Oct. 14 next, he would have been 81 years old.

Notes of the Week: Saturday

The funeral of Clement L. Barron occurred this afternoon at 3 o'clock from Trinity Episcopal church. The services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Gardner and were largely attended. The burial took place at Silver Brook cemetery.

David Bledsoe
April 15, 1908-April 16, 1953

David Bledsoe, rural route two, died at 4:30 a.m. today in Cass County Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Rosalee, two sons, David and Robert, at home, and six sisters, Including Mrs. Reuben Henman, Elkhart, Ind., ; Mrs. Joe Johnson and Mrs. B.D. Wallace, of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Lee Roberts, Elkhart, Ind.; and Mrs. George Warford and Mrs. Cyril Graham, of Milwaukee.

Bledsoe was born on April 15, 1908,in Huntington, Tenn., and came here from Elkhart about one year ago. He was employed by the New York Central Railroad Company.

Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of God in Christ, rural route two, with the Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Margaret L. Boose
Aug. 17, 1893-March 27, 1953

Mrs. Margaret L. Boose, 59, route one, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday in Pawating Hospital. She had been ill one day.

Surviving are her husband, Floyd; five daughters, Mrs. William Hibbard, Mrs. Russell Davis, Mrs. William Davis, Mrs. Theodore Przybsz and Mrs. Elmer Werntz, all of Niles; one son, Robert Miltenberger, Niles; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Cartwright, Niles, and Mrs. Floyd Trowbridge, Benton Harbor, and two brothers, Percy Snyder, Niles, and William Snyder, North Liberty, Ind.

Mrs. Boose was born on Aug. 17, 1893, in Marshall County, Ind., and came here from Walkerton, Ind., four years ago.

Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

BOOSE RITES HELD

The Rev. Hubert Johnston, pastor of the First Church of God, South Bend, officiated at rites held this afternoon at the Pifer Funeral Home for Mrs. Margaret L. Boose, rural one, who died Friday night. Burial was in Silverbrook Cemetery.
