Mrs. Lena Erickson, 60, 3753 Adams St., Gary, Ind., formerly of Niles, died Monday morning at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She had been in failing health since last August.
Mrs. Erickson was born Sept., 4, 1900 in Dowagiac and had lived in Niles six years moving here from Berrien Springs. She moved to Gary in 1926[sic].
Surviving are: her husband, Elmer B. Erickson; her mother, Mrs. Ernest A. Blood, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Charles S. Douglas Jr., Mission, Kan.; three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Lee Marquardt, South Bend.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Pifer Funeral Home here with the Rev. Chester Erickson, pastor of the Owasso[sic] Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
Mrs. Erickson was a member of the Gary Women's Club and of the Auxiliary of the Glen Park American Legion Post 214.
