Former Berrien Township Resident Dies in Iowa
Mrs. Lillias B. Gillispie, a former resident of Berrien townsip, died Monday at the home of her son, Paul, Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Mrs. Gillispie was born in Berrien townhisp, Nov. 11, 1859, daughter of Andrew Lewis and Margaret Thompson Burke. She married Thomas Gillispie Sept. 30, 1885. When her husband died about 20 years ago she moved to Mount Pleasant.
Surviving are two sons, Rex, of Washington, Iowa and Paul, of Mount Pleasant; a brother, S.T. Burke of Winnetka, Ill.; a sister, Miss Rachel Burke of Maywood, Ill. and five grandchildren. Two nieces, Mrs. Arthur Walton and Miss Florence DeMott, live in Niles.
The body will arrive in Niles Wednesday and services will be held at the Kiger funeral home at 4 pm. Wednesday, Rev. O.H. Gerstenkorn officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
