Wallace McBride, Softball League Official, Stricken
Wallace Wirt McBride, a lifelong resident of Niles and official scorekeeper for the Niles Softball league since 1935, died at 8:45 o'clock Monday night in his home, 515 North Second street. He was 43 years old. Mr. McBride was born in Niles, April 4, 1896, and was a son of the late William and Sarah McBride, pioneer residents. Surviving are one brother, Robert, and three sisters, Anna, Mary and Grace, with whom he made his home.
Widely known in sports circles throughout Berrien County, Mr. McBride had been an ardent follower of baseball and softball. He is credited with having scored more ball games than any other Niles man. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows lodge.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Price and Kiger funeral home with the Rev. Harry L. Nicholson of Trinity Episcopal church officiating. Burail[sic] will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
Friends may call at the McBride home from Wednesday afternoon until the hour of the funeral.

SERVE AS PALLBEARERS
Carl Schmidt, Ralph Power, Richard Stoll, Chester Overcash, Russell Swanson and Frank Curtis served a pallbearers this afternoon for the funeral services for Wallace W. McBride. Rites were conducted in the Price and Kiger funeral home with the Rev. Harry L. Nicholson officiating. Burial was in Silverbrook cemetery. Mr. McBride died Monday night in his home, 515 North Second street. He was 42 years old.
