Marion Clifford McBain, 78, of 929 Michigan St., retired farmer, died at 6:30 a.m. today in Pawating Hospital where he had been a patient since Jan. 23. He had been in failing health for several months.
Mr. McBain was born Jan. 39[sic], 1884, in St. Joseph County, Ind., and came to Niles 45 years ago from New Carlisle, Ind. His wife, Ada, died on July 3, 1948.
Surviving are: six children, Mrs. Otto Everman, [illegible] McBain, Ray McBain, Joe McBain and Mrs. George Hempel, all of Niles, and George McBain, Berrien Springs; two sisters, Mrs. James Landis, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. Clarence Kelley, New Carlisle, Ind.; a brother, Lawrence McBain, South Bend; 27 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren.
Funeral serices will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Kiger and Halbritter Funeral Home here with the Rev. Kenneth G. Carey, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oak Manor, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends are being received at the funeral home.
