Physician Here Is Dead at 74
Dr. Roy S. Waterson, 74, Niles physician for 45 years, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home, 103 North Third street, after a five month illness.
He was born Oct. 28, 1879 in St.Joseph County near White Pigeon. He was graduated from the Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery in 1907 and practiced a short time in Chicago before coming to Niles.
He was a member of the Niles BPO Elks Lodge, St. Joseph Valley Lodge No. 4, F & A.M. , White Shrine of Jerusalem and Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors are a son, Robert Waterson, A Dowagiac attorney, and two grandchildren, John and Jane Waterson. His wife, Gertrude Waterson, died in 1935.
Friends may call at the Kiger Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. John Paul Jones, pastor of the Dowagiac Federated Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
All members of Madonna Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem, are required to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m to attend the service as a group.
