DEATH CAME SUDDENLY

Henry Weselhoft of Detroit, a native of Niles died at home of sister here.

The death of Henry Weselhoft of Detroit Monday afternoon at 3:20 at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ed. Miller on north Front street, came so suddenly and unexpectedly that it was a great shock.

At noon he conversed cheerfully with his brother Edward, who called to see him and asked him to send word to fellow employes at Freeport, Ill., that he would soon be back to work again.

Death was due to an acute attack of Bright's disease.

Mr. Weselhoft had been in the employe of the Automatic Sprinkler Co. of Detroit for ten years and had been at Freeport, Ill., for several weeks as foreman for the company in the installation of a sprinkler system for a wholesale grocery.

Mr. Weselhoft was called to Niles about five weeks ago by the death of his mother. At that time he was in good health. While here he received orders to go to Freeport and he had been working there until last Wednesday his condition became so bad he was forced to give up.  Saturday he came to Niles accompanied by one of this men.  He was so weak he could not stand the trip to his own home in Detroit. As it was not thought that he was in immediate danger Mrs. Weselhoft did not come at once, and until she received the message announcing her husband's death she was not aware that his illness was so critical.

Mr. Weselhoft was born in Niles, July 13, 1873, and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weselhoft. He lived here all his life until employment took him elsewhere. Detroit being his headquarters.

He is survived by four sisters and two brothers as follows: Mrs. Ed. Miller and Mrs. Mitchell Robertson of Niles; Mrs. Ed. Horan and Mrs. Dante Webster of Allegan, Mich.; Paul and Edward Weselhoft of Niles.

Deceased had no fraternal connections so far as known, but was a member of the Plumber's and Steam Fitter's Union.

He was industrious, a skillful workman and was well-liked by his associates.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 from the residence of his sister, Mrs. Ed. Miller on north [Fifth] street.

Rev. F. Rahn is to officiate and the interment will be made in the family lot in Silver Brook cemetery.

Note:  Name is variably spelled as Wesselhoft and Weselhoft in records.
