Passes away after long illness at Vahn Street home.
Mrs. Hazel Nicholas, 31 wife of Charles Nichols die at their home, 711 Vahn Street, this morning at 3:40 (Jan. 11, 1927). She had been in ill health and early in the winter she contracted pneumonia and in since that time had steadily failed. She was in Pawating hospital a few days prior to last Wednesday when she was removed to her home. Among the immediate surviving relatives are three little children. Mrs. Nichols maiden name was Hazel Webster, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Webster. She was born near Niles and had spent practically, her entire life in Niles and vicinity. Besides her husband and three children, the children being, Ray (12), Frances (6) and Katherine (5), she is survived by her parents who reside at 415 South Ninth St., and by three brothers and a sister, who are Milo Webster, Mrs. Carl Vogelsang, Roy and Hermann Webster, all of Niles.
Mrs. Nichols had many friends in Niles who mourn her death. She bore her prolonged illness with patients and her hopeful expectation that she might be restored in health was encouraging to those who ministered to her.
The body is now at the Troost and Augustine Rooms. The funeral plans will be announced tomorrow.
