Eisele, George P.

George P. Eisele
Oct. 31, 1881-July 31, 1953

George P. Eisele, 435 South Fifth Street, died at his home at 6:50 p.m. Friday, July 31, 1953. He had been in poor health for a year. 

Surviving are his wife, Eva (Hattenback); a sister, Mrs. Anna Forrest, Niles.  He was born on Oct. 31, 1881, in Buchanan and came to Niles from there.  He had lived here most of his life, and was a machinist for the National Standard company.  He was a member of Modern Woodmen of American. 

Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home, where services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday. The Rev. H. A. Meussling, pastor of St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate and burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Fred G. Eisele, 62, of 110 Ontario Street, lifetime resident of Niles, died t 7:30 a.m. today in Pawating Hospital where he had been a patient since July 31.

Eisele was born July 9, 1894, in Niles.  Surviving are: his wife Bertha; his mother, Mrs. Clara Eisele, of Niles; four sons, Glenn and John Eisele, both of South Bend, and Maynard and Marvin Eisele, both of Niles; three daughters, Mrs. Henry French, Mrs. Edward Sholtey and Miss Caroline Eisele, all of Niles; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Gillen and Mrs. Ray Gillen, both of  Niles; Mrs. Lee Northrup, of Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Ronald Finn, of Washington state; and two brothers, Harold and Hoard Eisele, both of Niles.

Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home beginning this evening. Service arrangements are incomplete.

EISELE RITES SET


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Pifer Funeral Home here for Fred G. Eisele, 62, of 110 Ontario Street, who died Saturday in Pawating Hospital. The Rev. Herbert Meussling, pastor of St. John;s Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate and burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Eagles auxiliary members will meet at the funeral home at 8 o'clock this evening where memorial services will be conducted.

Frank Eisele, 53, Lifelong Resident of Niles, Expires. 

Frank Eisele, 429 South Ninth Street, a life long resident of Niles died Sunday afternoon, after an illness of two months. He was 53 years old.

Mr. Eisele was born in Niles April 14, 1887, and until a year ago was employed by the National Printing and Engraving Company.  Survivors include a brother, George Eisele and a sister, Mrs. Anna Forrest, both of Niles.

Services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 in the Pifer Funeral Home where friends may call. The Rev. Theo Eisen, pastor of St. John’s Evangelical church will officiate.  Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Mrs. Eva Eisele, 83, of 435 S. 5th St. died at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Dwellyn Hall Nursing Home, 512 N. 4th St.

Mrs. Eisele was born Sept. 20, 1880 in Cassopolis. She came to Niles, from Buchanan 50 years ago.  Her husband, George died July 31, 1953.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ Evangelical and Reformed.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Pifer Funeral Home. the Rev. Richard J. Fraser pastor of her church, will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home beginning Sunday evening.

 

Eisele, Elizabeth

Elizabeth EiseleElizabeth Eisele passes away at the home in Maple Street.Miss Elizabeth Eisele passed away at 8 o’clock Sunday morning at her home, 507 Maple Street, after a long illness. She was born in Bertrand Sept. 1, 1872 , daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. John Eisele, the father having passed away about 13 years ago.For many years she had been a patient suffer, although she always had a smile and pleasant word for everyone. She had many close friends all of whom loved her. There are many of who could take an example from her patient life. Her memory only forms another cord to draw her loved ones more closely to the thing above.She is survived by the mother, Mrs. Christina Eisele; a sister, Mrs. Clete Forrest and two brothers, George and Frank, all of this city.Miss Eisele was a member of the royal neighbors, carrying a policy of $1,000 for her mother. This order, in a body, will attend the funeral services which will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the house. Rev. R. A. Wright officiating. Interment at Silverbook Cemetery.

Mrs. John Ehninger dies in Nebraska

Passed away at home of daughter at Arlington Thursday.

Mrs. Catherine Ehninger, 94, widow of John Ehninger, who resided on a farm four miles west of Niles toward Portage Prairie, for many years prior to Mr. Ehninger’s death, died this morning, April 3, 1930, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Schoettger in Arlington, Neb.

The body will be brought to Niles.  The services will be held on Saturday Afternoon at 3 o’clock in the Troost and Augustine Chapel.  It is expected that the funeral party will reach Niles on Saturday morning. Mrs. Ehninger has resided in Arlington since the death of her son, Frank Ehninger 15 years ago.  She is survived by two sons, Henry Ehninger, Hooper, Neb., and William Ehinger of Lyons, Nev.  And by one daughter, Mrs. Henry Schcoettger of Arlington.  Among the surviving grandchildren are the following, Mrs. Lawrence  Ehninger Knox, wife of Jacob, residing west of Niles, Louis Ehinger and Fred Goldfuss of Niles, Clarence Ehninger of South Bend and Mrs. Irene Lister, wife of Joseph Lister of Detroit, other grandchildren reside in South Bend and other cities.  Mr. and Mrs. Ehinger were pioneer residents of the Portage Prairie section and have spent most of their married life on the farm where Mr. Ehninger died in 1907.

Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Ehinger, widow of John Ehninger, whose body was brought to Niles this morning from Arlington, Nev, where she died on Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Schoetiger, will be held at 3 o’clock this afternoon in the Troost and Augustine Chapel. T he Rev. D.O. Young pastor of the Evangelical church in west Niles will officiate. Burial will be made in the family lot in Silverbrook Cemetery. Mrs. Schoettiger and Henry Ehninger; a son, of the deceased of Hooper, Neb., came to Niles with the body. Among other relatives here for the funeral services are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lister of Detroit, and Mrs. Margaret Ehninger and son, Douglas of Michigan City, Mrs. Ehninger was 94 years of age. She was born in Germany.

Egbert, Roger Allen

Roger Allen Egbert, 54, of 1327 Cass St., died at 7 a.m. Thursday Oct. 20, 1994, in his home of natural causes.  He was a baker at Demond's Super Value, Eastgate Shopping Center.  Mr. Egbert was born Aug. 4, 1940, in Blue Island, Ill.  He is survived by three sisters, Edith Crouch of Niles, Tyra Dean of El Paso, Texas, and Elizabeth Eason of McIntosh, Fla.; and a brother, Charles of Niles.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Silverbrook Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Pifer-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
