MRS. MINTIE REED[sic], MOTHER OF FIVE, DIES
Resident of Niles 10 Years Succumbs After Operation
Mrs. Mintie A. Reid, 29, mother of five small children, died Sunday in Pawating hospital. Mrs. Reid had been ill for the past three months. She entered the hospital last Friday where she underwent a major operation.
The wife of Foster Reid, Mrs. Reid had lived in Niles for the past 10 years moving here with her husband from Mendon. She was born in St. Mary's, O., April 21, 1907, and was married to Mr. Reid in Albion, Ind., Jan.16, 1925.
Besides her husband she leaves her mother, Mrs. Hulda Marshall, five children: Oscar, 10, Louise, 9; Vivian, 8; Helen, 6; and Russell, 3; two brothers, James Marshall, Niles, and George Marshall, Wajameza; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore Renner, Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Ben Jasper, Niles; also two half-brothers, Elmer Croughan, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Ray Croughan, Jackson; and a half-sister, Mrs. Nora Johnson, Mendon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Rutherford funeral home. The services will be conducted by the Rev. A.R. Kuehn. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home to view the body.

Final rites for Mrs. Mintie A. Reid, 29, mother of five children, who died Sunday following a major operation at Pawating hospital, will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Rutherford funeral home. The Rev. A.R. Kuehn, of the First Evangelical church, will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Niles News in Brief: REID RITES HELD
The Rev. A.R. Kuehn, of the First Evangelical church, conducted funeral services at 2 o'clock this afternoon for Mrs. Mintie Reid, who died Sunday in Pawating hospital. The services were held in the Rutherford funeral home with burial in Silverbrook cemetery. Earl Mathews, Lewis Webber, William Krueger, Arthur Ranft, John Bender and William Rife served as pallbearers.
