Timothy S. Linville, 57, of Wheatly Drive, South Bend died at 5:56 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor following a brief illness.

He was born Dec. 30, 1953 in Superior, Neb. to Floyd W. and Barbara Jean (Knoll) Linville. In 1954 the family moved from Nebraska to Niles. He graduated from Niles High School in 1972, and excelled as the football team’s quarterback. Tim later graduated from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo.
Tim worked for and co-owned Linvilles’ Olds Cadillac in Elkhart, Ind. with his brother, Terry. He was currently employed as the new car manager at Tom Naquin Chevrolet in Elkhart.
He loved fishing, Notre Dame athletics and lived for Labor Days with his family in Ludington, Mich.
On Nov. 15, 2008 in South Bend, he married Lori Busch, who survives. His family includes his children, Chad (Jamie) Linville of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jeremy Linville of Park City, Utah and Sara Mead of South Bend; stepchildren, Kelli and Brett Carlson of South Bend; brothers, Larry (Carol) Linville of Brentwood, Tenn. and Tim’s twin, Kim (Paula) Linville of Nolensville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Tom loved his new role as grandpa to his grandson, Oliver.
He was preceded in death by parents and brother, Terry Linville.
Funeral services for Timothy S. Linville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Niles with the Rev. James Slack of the church officiating.
Committal rites will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 Tuesday at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
