GEORGE VAN EVERA DIES AT HOME OF SISTER HERE
Deceased Was Born at Present Site of Reed Hotel at Barron Lake
George Van Evera, 55, of South Bend, died at 11:55, Sunday evening in the home of his sister, Mrs. John F. Stowe, 1401 Broadway, where he had been a guest for about two weeks while recuperating from illness which developed after an accident during last summer while he was at work at a toy manufacturing plant in South Bend where he had been employed for many years. After the accident he was for several weeks in a hospital in South Bend for treatment.
Mr. Van Evera was born in what is now the Reid hotel, Barron lake, the hotel having been built by his father John Van Evera, 60 years ago. He grew to young manhood here and then went to South Bend. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Van Evera, 82, and by three sisters, Miss Louise, Mrs. John F. Stowe and Mrs. Carrie Pons of Toledo, Ore., Mrs. Van Evera, the mother and the sister, Miss Louise reside at 724 Osborn avenue where Mr. Van Evera also made his home.
The funeral plans are not completed but the services will be held probably on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stowe. Burial will be made in the Van Evera family lot in Silver Brook cemetery.

Funeral services for George Van Evera will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 in the Troost and Augustine chapel. Burial will be made in Silver Brook cemetery in the Van Evera family lot. Mr. Van Evera whose home was in South Bend, died on Sunday evening in the home of his sister, Mrs. John F. Stowe, 1401 Broadway.

Niles News in Brief: FUNERAL GEORGE VAN EVERA
. . . [illegible] . . .who died in the home of his sister, Mrs. John F. Stowe, 1401 Broadway, were held this afternoon in Niles. Crusade lodge, Knight of Pythias, of South Bend, assisted by members of the Calanthe lodge, Knights of Pythias of Niles, were in charge of the services. The pastor of the church in South Bend which the Van Evera family attended also assisted in the services and conducted the committal service in the family lot in Silverbrook cemetery.
