Irving R. Bartlett, 78, 1353 Broadway, died yesterday at 2 p.m. in his home after a two-year illness.

Mr. Bartlett was born in Oswego County, N.Y., on Oct. 16, 1889. He had lived in Niles since 1912 and married Ruth Brown on May 18, 1934. He retired from Kawneer Co. in 1954. He was a member of Kawneer's Management Club and the 25 Year Club.

He is survived by his widow, a brother, George of Oswego County, N.Y.; a son, Carl of Oxnard, Calif.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Pifer Funeral Home. The Rev. Lloyd Schloop, pastor of the Wesley United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m.

Miholick, Infant son

Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Miholick of 1899 M-40 North, died at birth at 6:30 a.m. Friday in Pawating Hospital.

The infant is survived by his parents, one sister, Lisa Mary, a brother, Richard Edward, and grandparents, Mrs. Mary Eckstein of South Bend,and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Goodenow of Niles.

Commital[sic] services  will be held at 11 a.m. today at Silverbrook Cemetery with Mr. Donald Nepstad of the Presbyterian Church officiating.  Funeral arrangements were handled by the Pifer Funeral Home.

Frank J. Miller Dies at County Infirmary

Frank J. Miller, 77, died at 10:50 o'clock Monday night at the county infirmary at Berrien Center.

The deceased is survived by four children, Harry, Benton Harbor; Forrest, Niles; Fred, Chicago, and Lena, San Diego, Cal.

Funeral services will be held at the Price and Kiger funeral home at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning with the Rev. Guy W. Simon, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Interment will be at Silverbrook cemetery.

Note: Date of birth from Michigan Death Record.  Frank J. Miller born at Porter Twp., Cass County, Michigan, died July 23, 1934.

 

Miller, Herman F.

NILES—Herman F. Miller, 78, 511 W. Main St., died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday at Pawating Hospital following an extended illness.

Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the First World War, and was a retired employe of the Kawneer Co.  He was a member of the Kawneer 25 Year Club.

He was born March 27, 1897 in Niles and lived here all of his life.

On Dec. 24, 1940 in Niles, he married Grace B. Waugh, who survives.

Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Donna) Thomson, of Haslett, Mich. And a sister, Mrs. Emma W. Walters of Niles.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Halbritter Funeral Home with the Rev. John R. Wyngarden of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Friends are calling at the Halbritter Funeral Home.

 

Miller, Rose Margaret

Mrs. Rose Margaret Miller, 69, of 2922 North Fifth Street, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in Pawating Hospital where she had been admitted at 4:15 in the afternoon.  She had been ill for several years.

Mrs. Miller, a member of the auxiliaries to the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, was born May 30, 1888, in South Bend and came to this city 20 years ago from Chicago.

Surviving are: her husband, William F. Miller; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Sittler, of Niles; two grandchildren, and a brother, Charles Turnock, of Niles.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Kiger-Halbritter Funeral Home here with the Rev. earl Wickstrom, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home.

Members of the American Legion and VFW auxiliaries and all past presidents of the Legion auxiliary will meet at 1:45 pm. Friday at the funeral home to attend the services.

 

Mollison, Frank

NILES—Word has been received here of the death of Frank Mollison, 91, of Corte Madera, Calif. Mr. Mollison died Sunday at his home following a brief illness.

He was a retired employe of the Hudson Motors Co. at Detroit.

He was born March 24, 1885 in Forfar, Scotland and had lived in Corte Madera since 1963, coming from Niles.

He wife Mary Mollison died in 1958.

Surviving is a son, Attorney Andrew R. Mollison of Niles; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Flora) Seielstad of Corte Madera; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday in Corte Madera, with private committal services at Silverbrook Cemetery here.  Local arrangements are being handled by the Halbritter Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Morris, Lyle A.

Funeral services for Lyle A. Morris, 97, of 2525 E. First St., Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Niles, will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Havey-Engelhardt Funeral Home, Fort Myers.

Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

Mr. Morris died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Calusa Harbor retirement Community in Fort Myers, following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 24, 1894, in Niles and lived here on Fairland Road until 1971 when he moved to Florida.

A retired farmer, he was a U.S. Army veteran of WWI and a member of American Legion Post No. 26, Niles.

He married the former Arlene Stout, who survives.

Other survivors include a sister, Ruth Cleary of Melvindale; a niece, Mary Lou Carter of Madison, Ala.; and a nephew, James Kehrer of Niles.

There will be no local services.
