Berrien County sheriff's officers found the body of Mrs. Elizabeth M. West, 79, former Niles resident at 11 a.m. Thursday in her home at 3836 Shorelane Drive, Paw Paw Lake, Watervliet. Dr. H.M. Grundset, Watervliet, deputy medical examiner, ruled that death had occurred about 24 hours previous because of heart failure. She had been ill for a number of years.
Mrs. West was born Jan 12, 1883, in St. Louis, Mo., had lived in Niles for about 30 years prior to moving to Watervliet in 1955.
Surviving are: Two daughters, Mrs. Anna Siebarth, Mattawan, and Mrs. Jessie Willey, South San Gabriel, Calif., two grandchildren, and a brother, Herman Stifler, Tampa, Fla.
Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Silverbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Orlen Njus, pastor of Bertrand Bible Church, officiating. Friends will be received this evening at the Pifer Funeral Home.
