Herman Blackburn, 63, 1806 Niles-Buchanan Road, died Wednesday at 9:42 a.m. at Pawating Hospital, where he had been a patient six weeks. He had been ill three years.
Mrs.[sic] Blackburn, a retired interior decorator, was born Jan. 13, 1899, in Coffee County, Tenn. He came to Niles in 1916.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma; three sons, Kenneth and Eldon, both of Niles, and Dwain, Kalamazoo; three sisters, Mrs. Walter McLaughlin and Mrs. Mann Bonner, both of Niles, and Mrs. Grover Bennett, Cooksville, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pifer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl J. Wickstrom, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends are being received at the funeral home.
