Miss Emma Elizabeth Treiber, 75, of 616 North Fifth street, died at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday in Pawating Hospital. Miss Treiber had been ill for two years and confined to the hospital for the past seven months.
She was born in Niles Township on Oct. 17, 1878, and was graduated from Niles High School and Ypsilanti Normal School. She received a bachelor of Science degree from the University of Chicago and a master's degree from the University of Michigan.
Miss Treiber taught school in Niles, South Bend, St. Paul, Minn., at the University of Ohio and at. . .[illegible]. She retired from teaching nine years ago and had lived in Niles since.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Fred T. Hulce and Miss Louise Treiber, and a brother, Frank Treiber, all of Niles
Friends may call at the Kiger Funeral home until time of funeral services at 3 p.m. Friday. The Rev. T.M. Greenhoe will officiate and burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
