Niles News in Brief: FORMER RESIDENT DIES
Miss Alicia Welling, 90 years old, and a former reident of Niles, died Thursday afternoon. Her death followed a long illness at the home of her sister, Mrs. Charles Antisdel, Dowagiac. Miss Welling was born in Jackson, Aug. 12, 1844 and moved to Niles when she was a child. She moved to Dowagaic 24 years ago, where she had lived until her death at the home of Mrs. Antisdel. The latter is the only surviving member of the family. She leaves several nieces and nephews, among them a nephew, Bert Welling, Niles. Funeral services will be private. They will be held at the Antisdel home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Joseph Fox, of the Federated church officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
