Funeral services for Mrs. Violet R. Atkinson, 79, of 16 North Third street, who died at noon Friday at her home after a two-weeks illness, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Methodist church here.
The Rev. L. G. Beacock, pastor of the Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
Mrs. Atkinson was born Aug. 26, 1871, in Ontario, Canada, and came here from Canada in 1903. Her husband, Robert C., died April 12, 1940.
A graduate of Valparaiso university, Valparaiso, Ind., Mrs. Atkinson taught school in Manistee. She was a member and teacher of the Philathea class of the Methodist church, of the (illegible text) club, and of the Niles Club of Home Gardens.
Surviving are two sons, Seth R. of Niles, and Lew E. of Altadena, Cal.; two daughters, Mrs. A.F. Wurz of Mishawaka, Ind., and Mrs. Stuart White, of Niles; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
