NILES—Mrs. Hazel G. Mooney, 79, of Kalkaska, died Monday afternoon in a Grayling hospital, after being in ill health for some time.
Mrs. Mooney was born Feb. 11, 1892, in State Center, Iowa, and had moved to Kalkaska from Niles six years ago. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Rapid City First Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Sr.; four step-sons, Elsworth, Robert and Ralph, all of Niles, and Floyd of Anniston, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Fox of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, John Marker of Davenport, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Pifer Funeral Home, with pastor Jack Van Arsdall of the First Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
