George R. Dittmar

George R. Dittmar, 931, Hickory Street, died upon entering Pawating hospital at 10 p.m. Sunday after suffering a heart attack about an hour earlier.

Surviving are his children, Clifford, Loren and Lee Dittmar of Niles, Cecil Dittmar of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Grant Shutes of Schoolcraft and Mrs. Emma Parks, Battle Creek. His wife Grace M. died in 1930.

Dittmar was born on July 11, 1875 in Schoolcraft and came to Niles from there. He had lived here most of his lifetime and was retired employee of the Kawneer Company.  Dittmar was a member of the 35 years club of the company.

Friends may call at the Kiger Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Hugh Lee of the apostolic church. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
