Mary J. Kompass, 81, formerly of 421 N. 4th St., Niles, died at 8:20 a.m. Friday in Appleton, Wis. following an extended illness.
She had been a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Niles Service League and Ladies' Historical Society.
Mrs. Kompass was born Sept. 15, 1899 in Glendora, Calif. She was married on Sept. 28, 1922 in Niles to Frederick B. Kompass. He died in 1975.
Survivors include two daughters, Anne K. Glasner of Appleton, Wis., and Jane K. Klopp of Battle Creek; a brother, George R. Kneeshaw, Niles; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Vincent J. Anderson will officiate.
Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Local arrangements are being handled by the Halbritter Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Niles Community Library.
