John A. Cart

Well known farmer a victim of Heart Disease and Dropsy.
John A. Cart died Sunday afternoon about 6:15 o’clock at the Clark Hospital in Buchanan where he had been a patient for two weeks. His death followed an illness with heart trouble and dropsy.The body was brought to the late home on Reddick Street today where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock W. F. Putnam will officiate. Burial will occur at Silverbrook cemetery beside the body of his wife who died July 11, 1920.
Mr. Cart was born in New Paris, Ind., in 1859, for the past 32 years in he had resided in Niles Township where he engaged in farming. He was a stalwart Republican and was frequently the choice of his party for office in that township.
Mr. Cart had no near surviving relatives. Since the death of Mrs. Cart, a niece of the latter, Mrs. May Roebeck, a daughter of the late Edward Blanchard has kept house for him and John Datzel has assisted Mr. Cart in running the farm. John Blanchard Jr. of Niles, Henry Blanchard of Waco, Texas and Mrs. Nellie Batchelor of Howard Township are brothers and sisters of Mrs. Cart whose maiden name was Martha Blanchard.
