DeVerne Asmus, 81, 11415 Sioux Trail, Niles, a member of the Kawneer 25 Year Club, died Tuesday at Wilds Quiet Acre in Buchanan.
He was born Feb. 15, 1905 in Niles and was a lifetime Niles resident. On June 20, 1925, he married Ella Villwock who died in 1977.
Surviving are one son, Duane of Niles; one brother, Clarence of Niles; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Halbritter Funeral Home, Rev. Louie J. Schweppe will officiate. Burial will be at Silverbook Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 pm. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
