Edward H. Behm, 72, of 216 South Fourth Street, retired carpenter, died at 6:25 a.m. today in Pawating Hospital following an illness of six weeks.
Mr. Behm was born Aug. 20, 1885, in Peoria, Ill., and had lived in this community since 1919. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are: his wife,Jessie M. Behm; five children, Edward J. Behm, of Niles, and Mrs. Dillard Crouch, Mrs. John Marx, Mrs. Steve Frizzo and Mrs. Leland Stevens, all of Niles; five stepchildren, William Welsher, of St. Joseph, Jack Welsher, of Niles, Mrs. John Wegner and Mrs. Barabra Walter, both of Niles, and Mrs. Henry Bash, of South Bend; three brothers, William Behm, of Des Moines, Ia., John Behm, of California and Charles Behm, of Kewanee, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and 17 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church here with the pastor, the Rev. John MacLachlin, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kiger-Halbritter Funeral Home.
